A great little alternative indie band with hints of country music. A talented blend. Some great music - favorites are "Is There a Ghost" and "No One's Gonna Love You". The Who honored in Los Angeles. The third annual "VH1 Rock Honors" airs this Thursday. Recorded Saturday, celebrity guests such as David Duchovny, Mila Kunis, Rainn Wilson and Adam Sandler introduced The Flaming Lips, Foo Fighters, Incubus, Tenacious D and Pearl Jam, who covered songs from popular Who albums.

Inspired by the Californian punkrock which they grew up with, the band has released it's 6th and latest album in the US this month, Machine 15. Check it out!

You may have already heard this band, but just in case... their debut CD just came out a few months ago, their first 2-song EP was just released 6 months ago, and their music is fantastic! Very creative and very catchy using a mix of alternative, ska, reggae, Brazilian, among other influences. Definitely worth a listen - one of the few bands who inspired me to buy the whole CD just to hear more.

Adele, is an English soul and jazz singer. She is the first recipient of the Brit Awards Critics' Choice, which was given to artists who at the time had yet to release an album, and the Sound of 2008 title given by the BBC News website

Meiko - a local SoCal musician to watch. I heard this girl's song "The Piano Song" on Sirius satellite radio, and she's got some seriously catchy music and a cool voice. Her fan base is understandably growing - she's also been pegged by KCRW as an up and coming artist. Give a listen to her music at her site. She also has a few song downloads there.
