ECHO MOUNTAIN
ECHO MOUNTAIN

In the late 1800's, in the foothills above Pasadena and Altadena, was a resort with a small train that took people up the mountain to the Hotel. There's nothing left now but the building's foundation and some steel cogs from the railway, but it is a great hike up the mountain to see the remnants of a whole other era of Los Angeles history. See the website for before and after photos and hiking directions.

SEE VENICE IN A DIFFERENT WAY...

From aboard your own, private, floating hotel! What better way to explore the winding waterways of Venice than from a houseboat of your own. Cruise along at your own pace and enjoy the sights and sounds of Venice (maybe even with a glass or two of wine!).

Ever fancied a South African safari but didn't fancy roughing it in a tent? Well here's your answer! Zeppelin NT Tours
Zeppelin NT Tours

Flying from southern Germany's Friedrichshafen, where Graf von Zeppelin first lifted off at the turn of the century, is the Zeppelin NT.

The NT (as in "new technology") is the length of a Boeing 747, but with only 12 occupants in the cabin, there's room to stretch out. Low on noise and lower on emissions, the aerial cruiser glides you over the medieval walls, rolling plains and modern cities of Germany at a prime viewing altitude of 1,000 feet.

Based on pre-launch buzz, there are already plans for similar tours over London and San Francisco.
